Foundation Piering and Underpinning Services
Falcon Foundations provides professional foundation piering services to stabilize and restore foundations that have been compromised by settling soils, shifting ground conditions, or other structural issues. Also known as foundation underpinning, this process reinforces the existing foundation by transferring the structural load to deeper, more stable soil layers.
Over time, buildings may experience foundation settlement due to factors such as soil erosion, expansive clay, poor soil compaction, or changes in moisture levels. When this occurs, cracks in walls, uneven floors, and structural misalignment can develop. Foundation piering is a proven solution that permanently stabilizes the structure and prevents further vertical movement.
The process involves installing high-strength steel piers beneath the foundation footing. These piers are driven deep into the ground until they reach stable, load-bearing soil or bedrock. Once properly installed, the weight of the structure is transferred onto the pier system, effectively bypassing unstable surface soils. In many cases, the foundation can also be carefully lifted to restore the structure closer to its original level position.
Falcon Foundations is an authorized installer of Stratos Piers, a trusted system designed for long-term foundation stabilization. Stratos pier systems are engineered for strength, reliability, and precision installation, providing dependable support for residential and commercial structures alike.
By using industry-leading piering technology and expert installation techniques, Falcon Foundations helps homeowners permanently stabilize their foundations, protect their property investment, and restore confidence in the structural integrity of their home.
A steel push pier is a foundation piering system utilized in both residential and commercial construction to stabilize and elevate foundations affected by settlement or sinking. It is particularly effective in situations where the foundation has shifted due to unstable soil conditions or changes in moisture levels. The steel push pier system is designed to transfer the structure's weight to more stable soil or load-bearing strata.
Cracks in the foundation walls are a primary and significant indicator of foundation problems. Pay attention to the size, location, and orientation of cracks. Horizontal or widening cracks are often more concerning than small, vertical cracks.
If you notice that the floors inside your home are sloping or uneven, it suggests that the foundation has shifted, causing an imbalance in the structure. This is a key sign of foundation settlement.
When doors and windows become difficult to open and close, or visible gaps around them, is a common sign of foundation issues. Foundation movement can cause these structural elements to become misaligned.
Doors that frequently stick, jam, or do not latch properly are often an early sign of foundation settlement. The misalignment caused by the shifting foundation can affect the operation of doors throughout the structure.
Walls that appear to bow or lean inward, especially in the basement or crawl space, indicate a serious foundation problem. The entire building is at risk if the foundation walls are bowed.
The Level Lift Piering System is a 2 7/8 inch 12 to 15 inch long steel tubing segment system which telescopic inter locks 6 inch tall steel tubing which interlocks inside the outer steel tubing. The steel segments are driven directly under the concrete foundation footing to 10,000 psi hitting solid bedrock. The Falcon Foundations installer can then lift the structure using a hydraulic ram or 20 ton bottle jacks placed on both sides of the Lifting Platform Assembly. After lifting or stabilizing the structure, the installer then installs the Lifting Jack Base Assembly. Consisting of 2 7/8” solid steel pipe with a hexagon shaped lifting base, a 1 ½” diameter solid threaded steel rod, and a lifting jack plate. The leveling jack threads onto the threaded rod and is adjusted to the appropriate bearing height, and the jack plate bears against the impact plate which is a steel section of angle that is then in direct contact with the footing. plate. The leveling jack threads onto the threaded rod and is adjusted to the appropriate bearing height, and the jack plate bears against the impact plate which is a steel section of angle that is then in direct contact with the foundation. Falcon can also stabilize only and not lift which can minimize damage to the home.
Estimate is to drive steel to bedrock within 20 ft depth. If greater than 20 ft owner to cover costs of labor and materials.
